In December 2017, Riverside students excelled receiving high praise and worthy accolade following their LAMDA examinations. LAMDA – London Academy Of Music and Dramatic Art is one of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious performing arts institutions who have offered practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years.
In partnership with Prague Youth Theatre, 9 IGCSE Drama students and 7 Junior High students performed a variety of monologues to a LAMDA examiner who travelled to Prague from London. They were examined on their ability to perform pieces that not only showcase their performance skills but also test their “memory, integrate their knowledge and skills to demonstrate a mature understanding of the material and their physical and vocal flexibility to support and inform characterisation and engage an audience.”
We are exceptionally proud of the students and of their results, nine of whom Passed with Distinction! They recently received their certificates and medals and are now preparing for the next cohort of examinations in June when Riverside School will become a LAMDA examination centre. LAMDA also work in partnership with UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) and therefore our students have also gained UCAS points to assist their grade profile when applying to UK universities.
We are delighted to share this success with you and look forward to developing our relationship with LAMDA in the future.
Riverside graduates have been accepted to some of the most prestigious universities around the world.
