Delivering over 30 years of exceptional British and international education.
Riverside International School (Riverside) was founded in 1994 by two expatriate families searching for a suitable school for their children. Unable to find one, they decided to establish their own and secured a building on the banks of the Vltava River, a picturesque location just outside the city centre. This remains the site of Riverside’s Primary School today.
Following extensive renovations, the school opened for primary-aged children and, within five years, grew to 100 students. In the years that followed, Riverside expanded to offer secondary education, developing dedicated campuses for Early Years, Primary, Junior High, and Senior High.
The school further enhanced its facilities with the addition of the Riverside Ranch in a scenic natural setting and introduced student-supported accommodation. Over time, Riverside has made significant improvements, including purpose-built campuses for each phase of education, a state-of-the-art sports facility, and specialised programmes such as Skills for Life and Outdoor Adventure.
By 2025, Riverside has grown to more than 730 students, representing 60 nationalities. The school’s three campuses are located in Prague 6, one of the city’s most beautiful and internationally diverse areas. This thoughtful arrangement ensures a cohesive and close-knit campus atmosphere, where families and students benefit from the convenience of having all school divisions within close proximity.
The current Founders are Sharon Jackson, an original Founder and Brian Thompson.
Riverside School is a not for profit organisation, an O.P.S. All income generated is channelled back into the school, the Co-Directors being the only salaried members of the Board.

The Riverside Board is a self appointing body. It meets at least four times each year, either in person or virtually, in London or Prague.
